PESCE의 업사이클 프로젝트는 Sleeping Giant라는 개념에서 시작됩니다. 잠들어 있는 거대한 가능성, 우리는 버려진 자원 속에 아직 깨어나지 않은 가치를 그렇게 부릅니다. 쓰임을 다한 당구대 원단을 수거해 워크웨어로 만들고, 수명을 다한 서핑슈트를 파우치와 키홀더로 재탄생시키는 일처럼, 우리는 조금 낯설고 어려운 소재들에 집중해 왔습니다. 앞으로도 우리는 잠들어 있는 가능성들을 하나씩 깨워나갑니다.

PESCE는 자체 브랜드를 만들어 온 경험을 바탕으로 기업과 브랜드의 이야기를 설계하는 크리에이티브 에이전시입니다. 브랜드 전략부터 디자인, 제품, 콘텐츠까지, PESCE는 브랜드가 세상에 등장하는 전 과정을 함께 만드는 팀입니다. 또한 환경적인 방식으로 디자인하고 제작합니다. 결과물을 만드는 과정에서 작은 디테일에서도 조금 더 나은 선택을 고민합니다.

향유고래는 지구에서 가장 깊은 바다까지 잠수하는 존재입니다. 그리고 지구상에서 가장 큰 뇌를 가진 동물이기도 합니다.

얼마나 큰 꿈을 꾸고 있을까요?

고래는 단순히 거대한 동물이 아닙니다. 깊은 바다에서 먹이를 먹고 수면으로 올라오며 바다의 영양을 순환시킵니다. 그 배설물에 포함된 철분과 영양소는 식물성 플랑크톤의 성장을 돕습니다. 이 작은 플랑크톤은 광합성을 통해 대기 중 이산화탄소를 흡수하고 산소를 만들어냅니다. 지구 산소의 절반 이상이 이 미세한 생명에서 만들어집니다.

향유고래는 보통 50~70년, 길게는 80년 이상을 살아갑니다. 그 긴 시간 동안 바다의 영양 순환과 탄소 흡수, 해양 생태계 건강에 중요한 역할을 합니다. 그래서 우리는 향유고래를 단순한 동물이 아니라 바다를 지탱하는 거대한 순환의 일부라고 생각합니다. PESCE는 그 상징을 로고로 사용합니다.

우리가 하는 일도 어쩌면 조금 비슷합니다. 사람들과 해변을 청소하고, 쓰임을 다한 것들 속에서 가능성을 발견하고, 다시 세상 위로 끌어올리는 일, 어쩌면 그것도 바다 깊은 곳에서 올라오는 일과 닮아 있을지도 모릅니다.

우리가 사는 지구는 우주에서 보면 하나의 창백한 푸른 점에 불과합니다. 그 작은 점 위에서 모든 역사와 사랑, 갈등과 희망이 만들어졌습니다. 그리고 그 점의 대부분은 바다입니다. PESCE는 바다에서 시작된 브랜드입니다. 우리는 해변을 걸으며 쓰레기를 줍고,, 쓰임을 다한 것들 속에서 새로운 가능성을 발견하고 있습니다.

어쩌면 우리가 하는 일은 아주 작은 행동일지도 모릅니다. 하지만 이 작은 점 위에서 살아가는 우리에게 작은 행동은 언제나 의미가 있습니다. 그래서 우리는 오늘도 이 창백한 푸른 점 위에서 조금 더 나은 선택을 고민합니다.

지구의 대부분은 바다입니다.

대기 중 이산화탄소의 상당 부분이 바다에 흡수되고, 우리가 숨 쉬는 산소의 절반 이상도 바다에서 만들어집니다. 바다는 지구의 호흡과도 같습니다. 그래서 PESCE는 바다를 먼저 생각합니다. 해변을 걸으며 쓰레기를 주워왔고, 쓰임을 다한 것들 속에서 새로운 가능성을 발견했습니다.

거창한 선언보다 작은 행동으로.

Since 2021, PESCE has been meeting the ocean firsthand by cleaning beaches together with local communities.
This small act began even before we started making products, and it continues today as part of how we operate as a brand. For now, these activities are carried out in Korea, but we hope to expand this culture beyond borders. What we ultimately wish for is for beach clean-ups to become a shared culture — and at the same time, for the day to come when they are no longer needed.

The sperm whale is one of the deepest-diving creatures on Earth.
It is also the animal with the largest brain. What kind of dreams might it carry in that vast depth?

Whales are more than just massive animals. They dive deep to feed and return to the surface, circulating nutrients throughout the ocean. The iron and nutrients in their waste help phytoplankton grow. These microscopic organisms absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen through photosynthesis.

More than half of the oxygen on Earth comes from this unseen life.

Sperm whales live for 50 to 70 years, sometimes over 80. Over that time, they play a vital role in nutrient cycles, carbon absorption, and the health of marine ecosystems. To us, they are not just animals, but part of a vast system that sustains the ocean. PESCE uses this symbol as its mark.

What we do may not be so different. Cleaning beaches with people, discovering potential in what has been discarded, and bringing it back into the world — perhaps this, too, is a way of rising from the depths.

The Earth we live on is, from space, nothing more than a pale blue dot. On that small point, all of history, love, conflict, and hope have unfolded. And most of that point is ocean. PESCE is a brand that began from the sea. We walk along the shore, collecting what has been left behind, and discovering new possibilities within what has reached the end of its use.

Perhaps what we do is something very small. But on this small dot we call home, small actions have always carried meaning. And so, today, we continue to consider better choices — here on this pale blue dot.
